Renault Koleos full details revealed, now available to order
Having made its European debut at the Paris Motor Show last autumn, the Renault Koleos is now available to order and expands the French manufacturers crossover line-up alongside Kadjar and Captur.
Offering the rugged capability of an SUV with the elegant refinement of a large executive saloon, the large five-seat SUV will be offered in two trims and comes with a choice of two dCi diesels: a 129bhp 1.6 with front-wheel drive and a 173bhp 2.0-litre with four-wheel drive.
The Dynamique S Nav kicks of the range, offering a panoramic sunroof, part-leather upholstery, 18in alloys, dual-zone climate control, and a seven-inch infotainment system and satnav.
The Signature Nav gets you 19-inch alloys, LED headlights, a full leather interior, an 8.7-inch display as well as an electrically-powered tailgate which can open or close the rear boot by a press on the keycard or waving a foot under the rear bumper.
Boasting a powerful stance that sets it apart from its rivals, the Koleos takes Renault design cues from other recently introduced C- and D-segment models such as the new Megane and Talisman.
Despite this, the new SUV is unlike any other Renault that has come before, with its main focus being on rear-seat space and practicality. This is sure to appeal to family buyers, and as a result the Koleos will sit above the Captur and the Kadjar in the manufacturers range.
With this in mind, rear knee room is amongst the best in its class at 289mm with rear passengers also benefitting from dual air vents, dual USBs (with two more in the front), a central armrest with cupholders and extra tinted rear windows.
The spacious interior has not been detrimental to boot space either – the boot is 624-litres expanding to a total load volume of 1,690 litres with the rear seats folded down. If that’s not enough, there’s an extra 35 litres of storage space dotted around the cabin.
As is the case with Renault, safety remains a key selling point. Active Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning, Traffic Sign Recognition and Tiredness Detection will all be available, together with Automatic High/Low Beams, front and rear parking sensors and a rear-view camera.
The Renault Koleos will be priced from £27,500 when it arrives in the UK this summer. Lease prices will be available soon.
