Nissan and Jaguar Land Rover thrown lifeline loans
UK carmakers were thrown a lifeline yesterday when the European Investment Bank (EIB) approved £778m worth of loans to help car manufacturers produce more fuel efficient vehicles.
The loans include £340 million to Nissan’s European operations which includes the UK based Sunderland plant and Nissan’s plant in Spain while £366m went to the UK-based Jaguar Land Rover.
