World’s largest Audi Centre to open in UK
Written By Paul Lucas Published On: Oct 11 2009 It will be a great day for star gazers when the world’s largest Audi Centre opens its doors in West London a week on Monday.There will be a huge party to celebrate the event featuring some of the capital’s top glitterati including the likes of Bryan Ferry, Gordon Ramsay, Jamie and Louise Redknapp, Keeley Hawes, Ronan Keating, Davina McCall, Sir Bobby Charlton, Sir Jackie Stewart and many more.The building represents a £45million investment from Audi UK and has taken six years to plan and execute. It is 190,000sq ft and has a prominent location adjacent to the elevated section of the M4. Seven storeys high it will incorporate three showroom floors capable of displaying 116 cars with the top two storeys given to Audi Quattro rooms, to act as a business and creative conference centre.Jeremy Hicks, director of Audi UK, believes the building is totally unique.“In its scope, size and complexity, West London Audi is like nothing we’ve built before. It is 100 times more complicated than a normal retail centre,” he said. “The sheer scale of this project is very emblematic of the increasing significance of Audi not only in the UK but globally.” He believes that the landmark building merely emphasises the company’s ambitions to be at the top of the automotive sector.”Audi is an enormously successful company with many ambitious plans for its future,” he said.“With both our existing model ranges and a host of new models for new segments, we aim to grow to a total of 44 ranges by 2015. By creating retail premises of this magnitude with this level of sophistication, we are ensuring that our extensive and contemporary line-up of cars gets the showcase it deserves.”
