What to expect at this year’s Classic Motor Show

With less than a week to go to this year’s Classic Motor Show, what can we expect from the event?It is expected that more than 1,400 cars and motorcycles will be on display at the show, which takes place at the National Exhibition Centre, Birmingham, from November 13-15.Among the highlights will be a collection of V8 powered British muscle cars including a Humber Imperial, a Daimler Majestic Major and several Rover P5Bs. There will also be a strong motorsport base at the show, including the Bugatti Owners’ Club and the MG Car Club.For motorcycle enthusiasts there will be several dedicated club stands for marquees such as Laverda, BSA, Norton and Vincent, while the central feature of the bike hall will be the Ace Café Concours, which is expected to attract the crème of classic café racers.It’s not just a chance to look at the automotives of yesteryear, however – visitors will also have an opportunity to buy a classic car with dealers pledging a diverse array of cars including an Aston Martin V8 Vantage Volante, a 1951 Jaguar XK120 and a 1969 Daimler Sovereign.In among the various exhibits will be a live stage on which a Pilgrim Sumo will be built during the course of the show. Adult admission starts at £21 on Friday if booked in advance or £16 at the weekend. There is a £2 premium for those paying at the door.
