Vauxhall annouce best ever market share of light commercial vehicle market
Written By Richard Lawton Published On: Jan 14 2009 Vauxhall the manufacturer of the Vivaro, Movano, and Combo amongst others is celebrating its best ever market share in the light commercial vehicle market, with sales almost hitting the 50,000 mark for 2008.Over the course of the year, Vauxhall’s total sales hit 49,863 which represented year on year share growth of 1.55 per cent; and for the first time the GM-owned company beat Ford in October and December in the total number of light commercial vehicles sold during those months.GM remains Britain’s biggest van manufacturer with over 90,000 vans built at plants in Luton and Ellesmere Port.“These figures prove that demand for good quality vehicles, low running costs and excellent manufacturer support still exists even in a challenging market,” said Richard Collier, Vauxhall’s national CV sales manager. “The van market suffered quite badly in 2008, but for Vauxhall to buck the trend and show share growth proves that customers want and trust our products.”For the latest Vauxhall commercial vehicle leasing deals, click the link.For the latest Vauxhall commercial vehicle new and nearly new deals, click the link.
