Written By Richard Lawton Published On: Apr 02 2009 A glimpse into the future of Kia’s crossover SUV plans will be unveiled at the Seoul Motor Show.The new Sorento has a more modern look than the version it replaces, being longer and lower with Kia’s new signature grille, and wrap-around headlamps.The model is set for a global launch with four engines available from the off.
“The dynamic design of new Sorento adopts simple, linear lines to create a powerful, yet polished appearance. Sporty and striking, the new Sorento represents a new breed of vehicle,” comments Peter Schreyer, CDO of Kia Motors Corporation.During the development of the new Sorento, Kia engineers ditched the body-on-frame structure and designed an all-new unitary (monocoque) bodyshell with room for up to seven occupants. Building on those new foundations, they concentrated on eight key areas – class-leading performance, increased fuel economy, reduced emissions, improved on-road handling, more fun-to-drive responsiveness, greater cabin space and comfort, enhanced overall safety and the introduction of new technologies.It would appear that Kia are set to continue their roll at the moment following the success of the C'eed and Soul models.The new Kia Sorento is expected to reach the UK market sometime during 2010.For a great deal on the existing Kia Sorento, click the link.
