Stars out for Goodwood revival
Written By Paul Lucas Published On: Sep 05 2010 The Goodwood Revival is now just two weeks away – and promises to be an ideal place for a spot of star gazing.Well known faces from most motor sport disciplines will be in action including Formula One stars, rally winners, endurance racing champions, tin-top tearaways and some leading bikers.[caption id="attachment_10863" align="aligncenter" width="385" caption="Stars (and lookalikes) will be on hand at the Goodwood Revival."]
[/caption]For example, current Renault Formula One driver Vitaly Petrov will be on hand racing an ex-KGB GAZ Volga M21 from 1958; while ex-F1 star Gerhard Berger will ride a motorcycle in the Barry Sheene Memorial Trophy.Among the other ex-Grand Prix stars scheduled to be on hand will be F1 TV presenter Martin Brundle; veteran F1 driver Jackie Oliver; and the only female driver ever to win an F1 race, Desire Wilson.Some of the stars from endurance and touring cars will include Emanuele Pirro, Jim Richards, Derek bell, John Cleland, Vern Schuppan and eight-time Le Mans winner and Revival first-timer Tom Kristensen. Scandinavian rally legends Rauno Aaltonen and James Haugland will also be in attendance.Motorcycle enthusiasts won’t be disappointed either with the likes of Wayne Gardner, TT-winners Stuart Graham, Charlie Williams and Ian Simpson, and former MotoGP rider Jeremy McWilliams on hand. Goodwood stalwarts Sir Stirling Moss, Sir Jackie Stewart, Jochen Mass, Brian Redman and Barry ‘Whizzo’ Williams will also be there.The event takes place from September 17-19.
