Renault Twingo Gordini Renaultsport heading to Britain
Written By Richard Lawton Published On: Nov 25 2009 One of the longest named cars ever is coming to Britain, the tiny Renault Twingo is to see a revival of the famous Gordini name, which was a prestigious racing cup competition in France in the 1960s, in a sporty special edition.Currently on display in Paris, the car will go on sale across Europe from March 2010.
With its Malta Blue metallic finish, and two racing stripes the car looks every bit the part, the car also comes with 17-inch alloy wheels with a polished face.Inside the cabin, Renault have been busy upgrading materials, so expect:
- Renaultsport seats with extra lateral support, with blue and black Gordini-embossed leather upholstery
- blue leather door panel inserts
- blue and black leather-covered steering wheel with two white stripes to indicate the centre point
- blue gearlever gaiter and Gordini-badged gearlever knob
- blue rev-counter with white surround
- leather-trimmed dashboard cowl
The car also has a 1.6-litre, 133hp petrol engine with a specially tuned engine note during acceleration. While judging by the photo the car certainly looks the part.
