Peugeot Partner Tepee now with seven seats

French carmaker Peugeot has released details of a new seven seat pack option for its Partner Tepee compact people carrier, available for its 'S' and 'Outdoor' models.The new pack allows seven seats to fit snugly into the vehicle, in a 2-3-2 formation, while still allowing the second and third rows to be folded down or removed completely to improve flexibility of use and to ensure the car loses none of its load carrying capabilities. The second row seats weight 14kg and the third row seats only 12kg which enables the interior to be changed with the minimum of effort and fuss.Peugeot say they’ve taken a close look at the legroom for the seats in row three and as a result have raised the seats in row two by 42mm and brought these forward 90mm while also raising the rear floor section and slightly angled so as to improve the seating position and view for passengers.While squeezing 7 people into the compact MPV obviously impacts on luggage space Peugeot has created three additional storage areas in the rear floor in addition to storage areas in row two, one of which stores the sliding luggage cover which it is not being used.The load area volume in the seven-seater version is 100 litres under the rear load cover. This then increases to 470 litres when the row three seats are folded flat and 650 litres when the third row seats are removed.Both Partner Tepee seven-seat pack models are only available with Peugeot’s class leading HDi 90 diesel engine and a five-speed manual gearbox and in two trim levels, S and Outdoor.The 1.6 litre HDi diesel engine represent the latest generation of diesel engines designed by Peugeot and provides a high level of driveability, while still limiting CO2 emissions and reducing fuel consumption. The Turbo Diesel’s confirmed combined mpg is 47.9 with CO2 emissions of 154g/km.Some options and standard features of the Partner Tepee, such as the multi-purpose Zenith roof and the interior roof rack, are incompatible with the seven-seat option, as the position of the third row seats has been raised.
