The popular premium SUV by Audi the Q7 is inline for a 2010 refresh, and it's due to reach customers in July this year. For the first time the car is available with a low emission 3.0-litre 'clean diesel' TDI model, which incorporates an AdBlue additive (replenished by Audi Centres during servicing) to eradicate virtually all harmful nitrous oxides from emissions. Also on the new Q7 is a regenerative braking system where mechanical energy is converted into electrical energy and stored in the battery – this is available across the whole range. The new 3.0-litre diesel compliments the other engines in the range – including 4.2 TDI, 4.2 FSI and 3.6 FSI engines, and a top of the range, eye-watering 6.0-litre V12 TDI dubbed the world’s most powerful diesel-powered SUV.Fuel economy across the range has seen significant increases, the 3.0 TDI ‘clean diesel’ is capable of 31.7mpg, and even the guzzling 6.0 V12 TDI achieves a respectable 25.0mpg.Quattro permanent four-wheel drive is standard across the range, with all cars coming with an automatic six-speed tiptronic gearbox.
Under the bonnet is not the only area to see the engineers at Audi tweak. The aesthetic have also been restyled for 2010. A redesigned front grille, altered bumpers and new LED rear lights are changes over the existing model.Up to seven occupants can be accommodated in the three rows of seats that are included as standard. The seats in the second row are individually adjustable for fore/aft movement, and both rear seat rows can be folded flat to provide a load area of 2,035 litres if required, without the seats having to be removed. If used as a 5-seater the Q7 boasts an impressive load capacity of 775 litres.Prices start at £38, 575 OTR rising to £94, 850 for the 6.0 V12 TDI.
