Land Rover sales boom through October

While the UK car sales overall grew 31.6 per cent in October, that proves to be nothing compared with Land Rover's UK sales data.For October 2009, the carmaker's sales rose for the third consecutive month in a row. In total Land Rover sold 2855 vehicles in October 2009, which means that the month was 89 per cent better than October 2008 for the brand. All of the models saw a rise in sales with Defender, up 25 per cent, Freelander 2 up 55 per cent, Discovery up 112 per cent, Range Rover Sport up 210 per cent and Range Rover up 43 per cent.John Edwards, managing director, Land Rover UK commented: "It's great to see the market up over 30 per cent and we're excited to achieve an 89 per cent rise in October versus last year. It demonstrates what an outstanding success the new 2010 model year vehicles have been and proves the importance of having new products in an ever competitive market."Land Rover currently sells in over 170 markets around the world. The UK is currently Land Rover's largest market. Of which, the contract hire and car leasing sector represents  a large share of Land Rover sales.
