Hummer to be wound down after sale collapses

General Motors is planning to wind down its Hummer operations after the sale of the sports utility brand to a Chinese buyer fell through.
The deal collapsed as Chinese heavy machinery company, Tengzhong, said it was  “unable to obtain clearance of the transaction from the Chinese regulators within the proposed deal timeframe”.
