Prestige car maker Aston Martin have released a short statement indicating that they have begun consultation with trade union partners over the implementation of a range of cutbacks to cut costs, as the current downturn bites.
The company is hoping to minimise the impact on employees at their Warwickshire base in Gaydon, however they cannot rule out the possibility of up to 300 permanent job losses, with a similar number of temporary positions also at risk.

Aston Martin Racing has released the 2009 specification Vantage GT4 based on Aston Martin’s new 4.7 litre V8 Vantage. The new Vantage GT4 builds on the success of its predecessor, the 4.3 litre Vantage N24.
The Vantage GT4 has been under development for six months and was unveiled in Dubai this week by Aston Martin chairman, David Richards, and tested extensively at the Dubai Autodrome.

Aston Martin Racing returned to the Nürburgring on 11 October to support the entry of the Aston Martin Austria DBRS9 in the DMV 250-Meilen-Rennen VLN race. The DBRS9 last competed on the famous Nordschleife circuit in the 24-hour race in May and the team used the recent VLN race as part of its testing and development programme for 2009.
