Your wife-to-be has lovingly spent £8000 on hiring you an amazing supercar for your big day, just so you can arrive in some serious style, what’s the one thing you should not do. Yes, that is right – don’t crash the thing!
Sadly, this is exactly what happened to David Gallucci on his wedding day as he crashed a hired Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster while on the 15-minute journey from his home to the wedding venue. Miraculously both David and his Best Man, who was in the passenger seat at the time, walked away with only a few bruises and no doubt a bruised ego.
The sportscar was hired at a cost of £8,000, of which £5,000 was a deposit to cover the insurance excess, which the couple have now lost.
Now wife Abi said: “I was mortified because I’d spent months arranging his present. But in the end I had to see the funny side. All the wedding guests were joking about what happened as the irony is David is the safest driver I know. I get trouble from him if I get the slightest scratch on an alloy.
“It cost us £8,000 to hire the car for one hour but thank god I paid the excess insurance – otherwise we’d have had to sell the house.”
