Keep your eyes on Norwegian electric vehicle maker Think – that was the message at the Cleantech Connect Awards held in London this week.
The award ceremony is meant to recognise Europe’s leaders in the clean and green technology sectors and encourages growth and collaboration. Think was the only automotive company named in the awards – a tribute to its success since it was re-capitalised in August.
Its re-emergence saw increased support from leading lithium-ion battery maker Ener1 and the Norwegian government’s private equity fund, Investionor, as well as Finland’s Valmet Automotive. The company has also made a series of recent senior executive appointments bringing a wealth of experience and skills from the automotive and cleantech sectors to the firm. Now a state-of-the-art manufacturing facility is being established for the Think City.
The company’s CEO Richard Canny was thrilled with the recognition.
“It was a real honour to be named as ‘one to watch’ at the Cleantech Connect Awards, especially as the only automotive maker on the shortlist,” he said.
“We are delighted to be in such good company – to be named alongside such innovative and forward-thinking winners as ClimateWell, MBA Polymers, Greenroad and Greengrass is a great achievement and an endorsement of our company and its product – the world’s first urban full battery electric vehicle, the Think City.”
