There has been a ringing endorsement for Ford’s vans after the company was named as Britain’s more reliable van manufacturer.
A survey of more than one million vehicles, published annually by Fleet News magazine, saw the Transit named as the most reliable van for the third year running while the Transit Connect also did well, finishing in third place.
Leasing and contract hire companies rate vehicles according to breakdowns per 100 of each model. This year’s survey took in 840,000 cars and 183,000 light commercial vehicles.
Ford of Britain commercial vehicle director Steve Kimber believes that the company’s focus on reliability has paid off.
“Ford models have led the commercial vehicle market for 44 years,” he said. “Their reliability record is of paramount importance, so I’m delighted by this Ford endorsement from top UK fleets.”
The accolades for Ford are a testament to its continued investment in commercial vehicles, much of it at Dunton technical centre in Essex and Dagenham, where the bulk of its Transit diesel engines are built.
