No, we don’t mean Usain Bolt, this weekend’s Goodwood Festival of Speed will see world’s fastest man Andy Green, the driver/pilot of the 763mph Thrust SSC, behind the wheel of Vauxhall’s hot new Insignia the VXR.
Making its UK debut the Insignia VXR is powered by a turbocharged 2.8-litre V6 engine and Andy will be putting the car through its paces as it takes on the famous Hill course on both the Saturday and Sunday mornings.

“The Festival of Speed is one of the highlights of my year,” said Andy. “So when I was offered the chance to drive Vauxhall’s new high-performance Insignia up the Hill, it was just the icing on the cake! Fast road cars are the essence of the Festival and I am really looking forward to giving the Insignia a good run up the Hill this weekend.”
The Vauxhall Insignia VXR, which has a 0-60 time of only 5.8 seconds, is set for a summer launch in the UK and will be available in hatch, saloon, and sports tourer flavours.
