Lexus storm JD Power awards

WHAT CAR? magazine has announced the results of the 2009 JD power customer satisfaction awards, revealing a ninth straight win for Lexus. Since 2001, when Lexus was first eligible for consideration, it has never been beaten.

Not only was Lexus top brand, but it was the top model too, although here there was a change. While previously it has been the Lexus IS range that topped the charts, for 2009 the RX SUV is the model owned by the nation’s most satisfied motorists.

Belinda Poole, Director of Lexus, said, “The message from these results is clear: the qualities of our products and the service we deliver to our customers have no equal. In nine years, none of our competitors has managed to improve its performance to a level where it matches, let alone exceeds the all-round rewards of Lexus ownership.

“We are extremely proud of what has been achieved by our network of Lexus Centres and are determined that we will continue to set the highest standards for customer satisfaction in the UK motor industry.”

Lexus’s reputation will be enhanced further this summer with the launch of the all new, full hybrid RX 450h and the IS 250C coupe convertible.

The declaration that American cars are narrowing the gap is somewhat misleading: While it is true, as a whole, they are making gains — the real numbers that matter to consumers is the individual cars in a particular class. For example, the top three classes of cars are: Truck, Mid-sized sedan, and SUV. Toyota dominates in these classes. Just because Americans can do cars that few people drive better — isn’t exactly the best accomplishment.

I tell all my friends to buy foreign still. And to use the power of competition to get a good price (ignore clever marketing). This is the best process to use when you are ready for a car:
