Contract hire and leasing, traditionally seen as a cost-effective way of acquiring a brand new vehicle, has just begun to take off as an effective and mutually beneficial way of customers acquiring the vehicle of their choice, but for less per month than they would imagine! A few car leasing brokers such as Freedom vehicle contracts now have dedicated pre-owned sections on their websites, promoting great value deals on used vehicles in stock and ready to go! Equally, main dealers are finding used vehicle car leasing an efficient way of disposing of used stock which is taking up space on their forecourt.

Recent deals witnessed on www.ContractHireAndLeasing.com include 08 PLATE Chrysler 300c diesel saloons for £219 per month from cheap contract hire and 07 plate VW Passat 2.0 tdi saloons for £174 per month from SV Contracts!

Because contract hire rentals are usually determined by the residual value of a vehicle , it has not always been cheaper to lease a used car than a brand new unregistered vehicle, however with used car values plummeting over recent months , dealers can now buy cars cheaper and thus reduce the cost of a lease agreement. In some cases this is having a dramatic effect on what calibre of car a customer can consider when choosing their next vehicle!

Whatever you do - always read your contract small print very carefully. Be sure that you understand all that it tells you and get an independent view on any aspects that are not clear. Don’t get burned like me…
