Fancy driving away in a new Mitsubishi Colt CZ2? Well if you can get down to Sittingbourne, Kent, a branch of Sainsbury’s in the town is offering lucky shoppers the chance to win a Colt as part of the BBC’s Children In Need appeal.
SMC Mitsubishi is giving the car away to the first person to successfully break into a safe containing the keys. The sporting hatchback will be on display at the supermarket 12-14 November. 14 November is the official Children In Need day.
The BBC’s first broadcast appeal for children was a five-minute radio programme on Christmas Day in 1927. It raised £1,143 18s 3d and the proceeds were shared with four prominent children’s charities. Since then, the popular televised charity appeal has gone from strength to strength and as a result of the tremendous support from supporters all across the UK, the 2007 Appeal raised over £37 million which is already
starting to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children and young people.
