Crude oil prices have fallen significantly the BBC reports this afternoon. While June saw crude oil fetching $147 a barrel, the price is now hovering around the $100 a barrel mark.
Since U.S refineries escaped damage from Hurricane Gustav which passed through the Gulf of Mexico, concerns for oil supply have eased. Decreasing international demand has also affected crude oil prices.
