An Ohio man bought a new Chevrolet Silverado pick up with $8,000 of loose change. James Jones distrusts paper money and banks and spent years collecting coins to make his final purchase of a $16,000 truck. His wife, Betty paid other half with a cheque.
Jones, 70, told the Cincinnati Enquiry; “Paper money will burn, but it is hard to damage coins,”.
It took salesman, David Criswell, an hour and a half to count the 16 coffee cans of coins containing dollars, half dollars, dimes and quarters.
