Japanese maker Nissan has revealed that it will unveil a seven-seat Qashqai. The car is due to be given its public unveil at this year’s London Motor Show in July with an expected on sale date of October.
The Qashqai is 211mm longer than the standard model and 38mm taller to accommodate the third row of seats that fold flat into the boot floor when not in use.
The Qashqai+2 is identical to its five-seat sibling from the front of the car right through to the windscreen and A-pillar. From there on everything is new including a longer panoramic sunroof, standard roof rails and privacy glass.
The rear doors are longer – this is to allow for easier access when you need to use the third row of seats – while the third row according to the maker are only for children or small adults
With them folded, there’s an increase of 90 litres of boot space over the five-seater to just under 500 litres.
Nissan has confirmed that The +2 will be offered with a choice of two petrol and two diesel engines and three trim levels.
