A recent AA survey announced that petrol costs 17 pence a litre more today than it did a year ago. The notion of fuel being £5 a gallon was once a light-hearted joke, it is now a reality for most motorists.
Diesel prices have now reached over 110 pence a litre compared to just over 91 pence a year ago and the average increase in monthly costs, according to the AA, is approximately £19.
