The news that fleets and personal drivers will be able to save money by running cars that have emissions of under 120 g/km will greatly increase interest in this eco-friendly range. By choosing low emission cars fleet managers and personal drivers will be eligible for the new benefit-in-kind tax rate of 10% and this could mean savings of hundreds of pounds a year for the individual,and thousands of pounds a year for fleet managers. We take a look at the cars that will qualify for the new benefit-in-kind tax rate.
- Citroen C1 – 1.0 Vibe, 1.0 Airplay +, 1.0 Rythym and the 1.4 HDi 55 Rythym. Available in both 3 and 5 door hatchback.
- Citroen C2 – 1.4 HDi L, 1.4 HDi Design, 1.4 HDi SX and 1.4 HDi Furio. All 3 door hatchbacks.
- Citroen C3 – 1.4 HDi L, 1.4 HDi Desire, 1.6 HDi SX, 1.6 HDi Exclusive and the 1.6 HDi 110 VTR. All 5 door hatchback.
- Daihatsu Charade – 1.0 DVVT. Available in both 3 and 5 door hatchback.
- Daihatsu Sirion – 1.0 S and 1.0 SE. Both 5 door hatchbacks.
- Fiat Panda – 1.3 MultiJet Dynamic. 5 door hatchback.
- Fiat Grande Punto – 1.3 MultiJet 75 Active, 1.3 MultiJet 75 Dynamic. Available in both 3 and 5 door hatchback.
- Ford Fiesta – 1.4 TDCi Studio, 1.4 TDCi Style, 1.4 TDCi Zetec, 1.6 TDCi Zetec, 1.6 TDCi Zetec-S and the 1.6 TDCi Ghia. Some models are available in both the 3 or 5 door hatchback.

- Skoda Fabia – 1.4 TDI PD 80 1, 1.4 TDI PD 80 2 and the 1.4 TDI PD 80 3 are all available as 5 door hatchbacks.
- Smart ForTwo – the entire range of Smart ForTwo including the 3 door hatchback and the 2 door cabrio all have CO2 emissions under 120 g/km.
- Subaru Justy – 1.0 1.0 R, a 5 door hatchback
- Toyota Prius – 1.5 T3, 1.5 T4 and the 1.5 T Spirit. 5 door hatchbacks.
- Toyota Yaris – 1.4 D-4D T3, 1.4 D-4D TR, 1.4 D-4D T Spirit and the 1.4 D-4D SR. 3 door hatchbacks.
- Toyota Aygo – 1.0 Aygo and the 1.0 Aygo+ are both available as 3 door hatchbacks.
- Vauxhall Corsa – 1.3 CDTi 75 Life and the 1.3 CDTi 75 Club are available as 3 door hatchbacks. The 1.3 CDTi 75 Life and the 1.3 CDTi 75 Club are available as 5 door hatchbacks.
- Volkswagen Polo – 1.4 TDI 70 S and the 1.4 TDI 80 SE are available as 3 door hatchbacks.
The Volkswagen Polo Bluemotion and the new SEAT Ibiza Ecomotive are not included in this list as they have not yet been released. These two cars are going to be very popular this year as they are the first conventional cars to emit less than 100 g/km and manage an incredible 74 mpg.
