The super-sized Volkswagen Golf is all set for a 2010 release and it features a new look, a revised engine range and the latest safety technologies.vw-golf-estate_3An obvious extension of the design used for the new Golf, the car also takes inspiration from the popular coupe Scirocco and even the forthcoming fifth generation Polo and includes redesigned headlamps and front and rear bumpers.Falling into line with the existing trims available on the new Golf, the Estate versions will be available in S, SE and Sportline finishes and each grade includes a good level of equipement as standard such as air conditioning, electric windows, and a CD player.A variety of both petrol and diesel engines will be available from launch, including a 1.4 litre 122 PS TSI model and a new 1.6 litre TDI oil burner. The environmentally conscience consumers will also have the option of opting for a BlueMotion variant which promises to be one of the most frugal estates on the market - can it beat stable-mate Skoda Fabia Greenline Estate's excellent 119g/km of CO2 emissions?vw-golf-estate_4As you would expect from a car designed to transport a family, the Golf Estate will also have a comprehensive array of safety features including ABS, ESP, driver and front passenger’s whiplash-optimised head restraints and six airbags including a deactivation switch for front passenger airbag.Retailers will begin to take orders in October 2009, with the first cars arriving early 2010.
