Could new car lights make roads safer?

Turn the clock back to 1968 and you may remember the UK experimenting with British Summer Time all year round. The idea ran from 1968-1971 with the idea of creating lighter evenings and a safer driving environment.According to the RoSPA, the experiment indicates that 450 deaths and serious injuries could be prevented each year if the UK reverted back to this timekeeping. However, the concept was scrapped after feedback from residents in Scotland and Northern Ireland.However, now a company believes it has come up with a car headlamp that could make it feel like BST all year round again.  Ring Automotive has launched the XenonMax car headlamp bulb, which produces 100 per cent more light output than a standard bulb.It uses precision designed filament technology and a Xenon gas mixture to concentrate light exactly where it is needed. This improves driver comfort and reduces the eye strain that can lead to fatigue.The company has a wide range of bulbs available that fit all vehicle types and their front lighting whether they are main beam, dipped beam or fog lights – they are available from most car accessory shops.
